 Abstract:  Johann Gehrung came to Cleveland, Ohio, from Germany in 1850. His great-grandson, John H. Gehrung, was an engineer at General Motors, an amateur genealogist, and a member of the Western Reserve Historical Society. The collection consists of letters, deeds, genealogical charts and notes, and news clippings, relating to members of the Gehrung family and to their relatives in the Hyde, Collister, and Knoeffler families, and a biography of Judge Florence E. Allen.
